‘I See You’

An exploration of baby-led creative workshops aimed at strengthening parent/baby bonds, decreasing parent stress, and building babies’ brains. This work is grounded in the arts, attachment theory, psychology and neuroscience.

‘Everybody was focused on each other… [it’s different than] everybody’s buried in their phones, including myself’—Parent

“I’m delighted that Shannon has continued the work that had its genesis in my littletinySPACE project (2022/23) and it’s been a privilege to be part of its further development.  This is truly profound work happening in quiet corners and it really has the potential to create transformation. “ – Anna Newell

“Shannon Yee is working at the forefront of Ireland’s early years arts community.   Her work is informed by a knowledge of neuroscience and attachment theory, which has the power to transform the public’s understanding of babies.  Often people do not realise the sophistication of babies’ capacities for connection, observation and communication.  Yee does.  I have been intrigued by the creative approaches she embraces to shine a light on those capacities.  I hope her leadership will give rise not only to greater public understanding and to family delight, but also to the empowerment of other artists to create work for this too-often overlooked group of little humans.” – Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, Connected Baby

‘There are opportunities to partake in workshops that really change your mindset.  This was one such opportunity. The ‘I See You’ workshop was such a beneficial experience.  With ROE, we acknowledge how the child learns from watching the care giver and coping their example. With the ‘I See You’ workshop, observing the care giver following the baby’s lead was very powerful.  Relinquishing control was awkward at first but it was magical to watch the care giver relax into it and really experience a bonding moment.  Teaching everyone how short, yet beneficial, 60 seconds is will stay with me and I will be mindful to include it as and when I can within my ROE programme. – Lorraine Whiteway, Roots of Empathy practitioner
